Climbing Routes - Along the Cormet de Roselend

Combe de la Nueva - 1950m
Information: The climbs are North-West facing combined with the altitude make it possible to make the climbs in the summer heat.

Climbs: About 15 climbs very well detailed here.

Rocher du Châtelard - 950m

Information: The rock face is south-facing so it gets very hot during the summer months. Take plenty of water and preferably go early in the morning or late afternoon.

Climbs: At the base there are three short 4c climbs seven 5s and three more 4s.

Falaise de Versoye - 1300m

Rochers des Glinettes - 1100m

Information: Climbs on the rock face all directions but the harder climbs are to the south-west.

Barme du Che - 1610m
Information: Faces south-west.

Climbs: 11 routes ranging from 5c to 6a+ ascents of around 50m. I will add a photo with the routes in detail later.

Falaises de Pont St.Antoine - 1550m/1900m

Information: Limestone with some quartz. The altitude and orientation allow for some good climbing even on hot days. Wear good approach shoes or hiking boots as some of the approaches are pretty steep.

Climbs: A fantastic area divided up into 8 sections:

1. Blocs de pont de St.Antoine - About 7 large boulders ranging from 3 to 10m there are roughly 60 routes on these boulders 3 - 7b.

2. Super Vanoise Sector - 17 routes, 6a -7c+, from 15m to 30m in height.

3. Kono and the 'Edible Way' Sections - first off I haven't the faintest idea about the name! 14 routes (5c-7c) 15-20m elevation. The 'edible' section has some good overhangs and plenty of holds, while the Kono area has some tough routes to the left demanding some really good moves and the rock over to the right is quite abrasive.

4. Entorse Sector - 19 routes, 5c - 8b+, from 15m to 30m in elevation, North-West facing. Some very diffcult routes on the right-hand side.

5. Fabricato Sector - 10 routes, 5b - 8?, from 20m to 80m ascents there are some projects under construction here so potential for some really good routes. There are a few waterfalls between routes so if the wind is blowing the wrong way it can get a bit slippy - refreshing if it is hot mind you! South-West facing.

6. Grande Voie (the big one! All the way to 1900m) - 5 routes, 5c - 7a, from 25m to 110m long these will really test your endurance. South and North-West facing.

7. Chebous - 4 routes, 5c, 7b, 7a+ and 8a+, around 30m, the first three lead onto a ledge from which you can start the 8a+. North-East facing.

8. No Man's Land - 5 routes, two 6a's, 6a+, 6b, and a 5c, 30m long.

Falaise de Séloge - 1950m

Information: The climbs are South facing so again lots of water and suncream.

Climbs: About 20 climbs ranging from 4 to 7a, 60 to 120m in length.

Petite Falaise de Séloge - 1950m

Information: Again all south-facing go early in the morning or late afternoon only mad-dogs and Englishmen as they say I suspect some may be both...

Climbs: 20 climbs over 5 areas, 3 - 7a, 55m to 120m ascents.

Falaise de Séloge Picou Section- 1850m

Information: Again all south-facing.

Climbs: 9 climbs, 4 - 7a, 80m to 100m ascents
